The week after the NFL regular season ends is always full of coaches losing their jobs after a disappointing season. This season was no different, as head coaches, offensive line coaches, and coordinators have all been relieved of their duties.
One good outcome of all the firings, however, is that they provide opportunities for new people to fill the vacant roles. That’s what happened in Cleveland on Wednesday when the Cleveland Browns announced a new hire.
“We’ve named Mike Bloomgren as our new offensive line coach. Welcome to Cleveland, Mike!” the Browns tweeted from their official Twitter account.

Fans reacted to the hire on social media.
“Why would you hire any one before offensive coordinator? I feel like the two kinda go hand in hand,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Don’t know much about him, looking to learn more. The one thing that strikes me is how quickly they made this move. It sounds like Kevin knew exactly the kind of guy he wanted and didn’t hesitate,” one fan added.
“Should be a piece of cake to look better next season. Get back to wide zone and work on twists and stunts, something that was foreign to our former O Line coach,” another fan added.
“I’m not mad at it, somewhere down his resume he worked with Bill Callahan. All I need to know,” wrote someone else.
It’ll be interesting to see what sort of impact Bloomgren has in his first season on the job.
