The Los Angeles Rams are gearing up to host the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional round of the playoffs. Despite having a home-field advantage, the Rams are opening the game as underdogs, as the Vikings have a better record and have looked like one of the most dominant teams in the NFL this season.
To make matters even more complicated for Los Angeles, the Rams are going to be shorthanded going into the matchup, according to one prominent NFL insider.
“Rams placed RB Blake Corum on season-ending injured reserve and promoted RB Royce Freeman from their practice squad,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Fans reacted to the unfortunate development of Corum on social media.
“And this is why starters were rested in this meaningless game. Hate to see Corum hurt but he will bounce back from this, but at least it wasn’t someone like Stafford, Nacua, or Havensteinm,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“that’s tough for Corum hope he bounces back next season but Royce gonna have to step up now,” one fan added.
“WOW this stinks! Lets hope Royce can be a good replacement,” one fan wrote.
“Huge blow for a post season run,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Rams adapt to being without a critical depth piece.
