The New England Patriots appear to be all set at the quarterback position for the foreseeable future with Drake Maye stepping into the starting role with the team his first season. As a result, it sounds like the Patriots could trade one of their other young quarterbacks.
In addition to selecting Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Patriots also selected former Tennessee Volunteers starting quarterback Joe Milton later in the draft.
After Maye established himself as the starter this season, it sounds like there is quite a bit of interest around the league in Milton.
According to a report from Steve Palazzo, multiple teams have reached out to the Patriots about trading for Milton.
“Hearing multiple QB-needy teams have inquired about Patriots QB Joe Milton,” he said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Milton played rather extensively in the team’s regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills, and he performed quite well.
During the game, he completed 75.9 percent of his passes for 241 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.
It’s not clear whether or not the Patriots will be willing to part ways with him, but it’s clear that they could have a trade partner if they did.
