The Green Bay Packers suffered a shocking loss to the Chicago Bears in the regular season finale, as the Bears nailed a long field goal as time expired. However, as shocking and embarrassing as the loss was, it wasn’t the worst outcome for the Packers on Sunday.
One star exited the game early, and according to an NFL insider, it’s a worst-case scenario situation.
“Packers standout WR Christian Watson is believed to have torn his ACL and suffered additional damage, ending his season and putting the beginning of 2025 in jeopardy. A frustrating reality for that talented pass-catcher,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“The rough part is he was questionable going into the game with a knee injury which more than likely contributed to the ACL tear since the knee and surrounding structures were inhibited (weaker) because of the prior injury,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“This sucks. Never want to see these types of injuries but heading into the playoffs is even more brutal. Wishing the kid a speedy recovery,” one fan added.
“Knew it was torn from the moment he went down. Dude can’t stay healthy and it’s so unfortunate. Hes such a good deep threat when he can stay on the field,” one fan added.
“Heart broken for him. He completely changes how our offense works. Suffering such an injury so late in the season is so brutal,” another fan added.
“Sorry Watson but i think it’s time to move on from you,” wrote someone else.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Packers can overcome the loss and make a deep playoff run.
