The Philadelphia Eagles are doing their best to clinch the NFC East and the first-round home game that comes along with it. Unfortunately, the Eagles were unable to secure the division on Sunday against the division’s last remaining contender, the Washington Commanders.
The Commanders won the game 36-33 after the Eagles star quarterback, Jalen Hurts, was forced to leave the game with a concussion. Backup Kenny Pickett entered the game in Hurts’ stead and managed to keep the Eagles afloat, but it ultimately wasn’t enough.
It’s unknown how much time Hurts will miss with the head injury, and now the Eagles have another quarterback injury to worry about. Kenny Pickett is dealing with an injury to his ribs and is awaiting further news on how severe things are, according to one Philadelphia-based reporter.
“Kenny Pickett says he will have more X-rays on his ribs,” reported NBC’s John Clark.

Fans reacted to the news that there was a non-zero chance that the Eagles may be heading into the playoffs with their third-string quarterback.
“If they are fractured and penetration of the lung tissue is observed can he be ruled out for 4-6 weeks huh? Maybe? Can he? Please? Just for safety? Would McGee be a really good alternative for safety?” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Not sure why everyone is trashing him. He’s not the reason they lost. He did what he’s supposed to do. The refs win that game and few key mistakes,” one fan said on Pickett’s performance on Sunday.
“If they come back negative, im gonna need Jalen Carter to finish the job. We cant have this man playing QB next week,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Eagles manage their quarterback injuries.
