The Kansas City Chiefs are in a tight schedule crunch. On Christmas Day Kansas City will play its third game in 11 days, and the high usage in such a short amount of time is starting to take its toll on the players.

According to one Chiefs reporter, the Chiefs’ Sunday injury report included a name fans will not enjoy seeing.

The (Chiefs) Sunday injury report is an estimation, but DT Chris Jones (calf), OL D.J. Humphries (hamstring) and S Chamarri Conner (concussion) are among those that would not have practiced,” reported Pete Sweeney.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

‘Biggest injury of the late season? Note: not to discount other significant injuries,” one fan wrote of Jones’ injury on Twitter.

“DJ is playing I’m sorry he’s had enough time to rest,” another fan wrote on Twitter.

“But the chiefs getting called [expletive] for not being happy with 3 games in 11 days a full 10 weeks after their BYE….I’m afraid christmas will be worse on the injury front for all 4 of the teams,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see how many more injuries are sustained in Wednesday’s Christmas day games. At some point the NFL has to prioritize player safety over profits.
