During his presidential campaign, Donald Trump was vocal about his intention to prevent transgender women from participating in women’s sports. In his first public remarks after winning the election, he reiterated this position.

At a speech at Turning Point Action’s America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona, this weekend, Trump announced plans to sign executive orders aimed at banning transgender women – whom he referred to as “men” – from competing in women’s sports.

“With the stroke of my pen on day one, we are going to stop the transgender lunacy,” Trump stated. “And I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, get transgender out of the military, and out of our elementary schools and middle schools and high schools — and we will keep men out of women’s sports.”

Trump also declared that the “official policy” of his administration would assert there are only two genders: male and female.

“Under the Trump administration, it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female. It doesn’t sound too complicated, does it?” Trump said.

While the details of his plan remain vague, as do its potential legal challenges, it’s evident that Trump intends to at least make an attempt to ban transgender women from competing in women’s sports.

Needless to say, this news led to a lot of reactions on social media with some speaking out against the policy and some supporting it.

“So, what? Camps for Trans people too?” someone asked on X.

“Wait til he finds out about gender neutral bathrooms,” someone else said.

“Starting January 20 the USA by Policy will have only TWO kinds of Presidents….Convicted Felons (1) and Not Convicted Felons (46),” another person joked.

“[Freakig] moron. He doesn’t know America,” another person added.

“What a [fool]! Who cares?” someone else said.

“January 20 can’t come soon enough,” another person said.

“I’m with President Trump,” someone else said.

We’ll have to see how Trump decides to go about this ban.
