The New York Jets have long been recognized by most fans as one of the most incompetent organizations in the NFL. Many folks thought this would change with the Jets’ acquisition of surefire future hall-of-fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Unfortunately, the Rodgers era in New York has been as frustrating as the Zach Wilson era before it. Now there’s more news on just how poorly decisions are made in New York.
“Jets Owner Woody Johnson vetoed a Jerry Jeudy trade in the offseason because his Madden rating wasn’t high enough
“He also pushed back on signing FA G at the time John Simpson due to ‘lackluster awareness’ rating,” reported Bleacher Report on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the brutal news on social media.
“Everytime I think the Jets have embarrassed me enough as a fan, I see something new AWARENESS RATING ON MADDEN??” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“hi Woody, I hope all is well with you. Any chance you could sell the team today?” another fan added.
“Why do we still believe that (some) owners take owning a team seriously? It’s just a fun little side game for them,” added another fan.
“Sell the team Woody. This isnt madden, this is the weirdest form of second hand embarassment i have ever felt and I’m just a fan. Im getting clowned out here,” one fan added on Twitter.
It’s hard to spin this as a good decision for the Jets.
