The Denver Broncos won a “gotta have it” game against the Indiana Colts on Sunday to take one more step toward clinching a playoff spot. Unfortunately, the win came at a high price.
Star cornerback Patrick Surtain went down with an injury in the 31-13 victory, and now thanks to one prominent league insider we know the severity of the injury.
“Broncos star CB Patrick Surtain, who exited early with an injury, is believed to be dealing with a minor ankle sprain, source said,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“I mean it goes without saying, but I don’t think the Broncos make a serious run without him out there. Good to hear it’s minor,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“At least its a sprain and not a rebuild and season ending one. Get better Patrick!” one fan added.
“Get well soon Patrick Broncos’ secondary depends on your presence,” another fan added.
“He should not play Thursday. Chargers game is an L waiting to happen,” one person added.
“Put that man on ice and let him do nothing but sleep and rehab the ankle this week. We need him Thursday night,” wrote another fan.
It’ll be interesting to see how long this holds Surtain back.
