The Baltimore Ravens are in the thick of a tight division race. Unfortunately for Baltimore, the Ravens lost 24-19 to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday to drop to two games in the loss column behind the division-leading Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was a frustrating game in particular for star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson finished the game with a respectable stat line, going 23-of-36 for 237 yards and two touchdowns, but missed multiple opportunities to gain extra yardage on the ground.

That’s if Jackson’s family is to be believed, according to the Ravens’ official website.

Jackson told reporters after the loss that his mother cursed him out for not using his legs more.

My momma just told me that. She just cussed me out,” Jackson said, referencing the need to utilize his dynamic athleticism more throughout the game.

“I’m mad. We’re going to get after it,” Jackson continued. “I’m not going to lie to you, we’re going to get after it. I can’t wait for this bye to get on. We got the Giants coming up, I’m ready to go.

“She said there were lanes I should have taken and ran. I was just trying to let guys develop routes. We had developing routes. I was just trying to go through my progression, but yeah, she [was] right.”

It’ll be interesting to see if his mother’s advice leads to a sharp uptick in Jackson’s rushing yards per game to close the season.
