Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) reacts to a call Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Indiana Fever phenom Caitlin Clark is the biggest name in basketball these days.

Clark’s rookie season in the WNBA saw her win the WNBA Kia Rookie of the Year award and be named to the WNBA first team, cementing her place as one of the top five players in the league.

Most thought that Clark’s dominance in her debut season would lead the new ‘Unrivaled’ three-on-three league to prioritize securing a commitment from Clark. Shockingly, she wasn’t at the top of their list, per Sports Business Journal.

“A’ja Wilson, Caitlin Clark turn down participating in Unrivaled. “I believe they did offer more [than Clark], because I know what they offered A’ja,” a source close to Wilson said. ‘They have a lot of money, and they offered her a lot of money,'” reported Sports Business Journal.

Fans reacted to the shocking news on social media.

“Nobody is getting more then Clark lol,” one fan who didn’t believe the news added.

“I swear A’ja hangs around the dumbest ppl All they do is make her look bad. But she also doesn’t correct this behavior or clarify ever so I’m led to believe birds of a feather, flock together,” one fan added.

“CC can command tens of $ millions for long term sponsorships. The new league can’t afford that. There’s no way this offer would be financially attractive for CC — in addition to her desire to rest and train in the offseason,” one fan added.

“We literally got ESPN push notifications about Clark not joining yesterday… A’ja hasn’t even been a footnote. But sure… No agenda here…. Just a wildly biased quote given by her own circle who have admittedly zero intel on Clark’s offer,” one fan added.

“Where’s this coming from? I don’t remember anyone asking,” added a fan.

“Why would they offer her more than Clark. Her jersey can’t even outsell a bench player on her own team. She was in the league before Clark and hardly moved the needle,” one fan added.

If Unrivaled really did offer Wilson more than Clark it’ll be interesting to see if they go on to regret the move.
