It sounds like Taylor Swift and her football star boyfriend Travis Kelce faced a pretty terrifying situation last month.
While Taylor Swift was in town to support Travis Kelce in his game against the New Orleans Saints, Kelce’s home was burglarized while the two of them were away from the house for the game, according to a report from TMZ Sports.
TMZ Sports obtained a police report this week that revealed that Kelce’s home was hit by burglars at around 7:33 p.m. on Oct. 7 – just minutes after the Kansas City Chiefs kicked off their Monday Night Football game against the Saints.
According to the report obtained by TMZ, Kelce had $20,000 in cash stolen from his home and his back door was damaged.
TMZ also reported that Taylor seemed to be impacted by the situation as well.
“Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift didn’t take any chances during last month’s break-in at his home. Our sources say Travis and Taylor stayed at a downtown Kansas City hotel on the night of the Oct. 7th burglary, after the Chiefs’ “Monday Night Football” showdown with the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium. We’re told Taylor and Travis’s security wasn’t playing around after the break-in,” TMZ reported on Wednesday.
Since they began dating last year, Kelce and Swift have emerged as arguably the most famous couple on the planet which has obviously attracted a lot of attention.
Kelce actually moved to his current home in search of more privacy away from fans and media after his relationship with the pop star went public last year.
Unfortunately for Kelce, it seems that this newfound fame may have made him a target for these criminals.
TMZ reports that the FBI has joined the investigation, but it’s not clear whether or not there are any suspects.
