The Los Angeles Lakers have a new head coach running the sidelines, and he’s letting LeBron know he’s not putting up with any more of his antics.
The Lakers played the Phoenix Suns on Monday night, and LeBron let the shot clock run out rather than taking a bad shot and hurting his percentage. First-year head coach JJ Redick was not having any of LeBron’s stat-saving nonsense.
“SHOOT THE [expletive] BALL!” Redick yelled at James afterward, as shown in a video shared on Twitter by BricksCenter.
Fans reacted on social media after learning there’s finally a coach in the NBA who will keep James in line.
“JJ the only coach that could curse LeBron out and not get fired,” one fan said on Twitter.
“Reddick first coach in 22 years to amog LeBron James. Gunna be Laker’s best season since 2020,” one fan added.
“I need to buy JJ Redick Jersey right now, what team did he play for?” one fan added.
“Lebron ain’t gonna like that J.J. J J getting too big headed,” someone speculated.
“That’s why hes a good coach. not scared,” one fan added.
If James can’t figure out how to be coachable, it wouldn’t be shocking if Redick has the Lakers move on from the aging superstar. The same franchise made a similar move once with Shaquille O’Neal.
