It’s a bad time to be a fan of  New York sports teams.

Monday was a rare equinox in the sports world, as the MLB, NBA, MLS, and NFL all played on the same day. Luckily for New York fans, they had a team competing in every sport.

Unfortunately, that’s where the good fortune ends.

“NYC is the first metro city to lose a game in MLB, NBA, MLS & NFL on the same day in the regular or post season,” Complex Sports revealed on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the brutal factoid on social media.

“Not quite the Sports Equinox history NY wanted,” the official Bovada account responded on Twitter.

“For once, the Jets are not the focus on a losing NY sports record,” one fan added, even though the New York Jets lost the day prior.

“From title town to smear city,” one fan added.

“Karma for the hate rally in MSG,” one fan added.

“A city that sells out every game, can sell wins to other teams. new york is truly a marvel of sports entertainment.,” one fan added.

“Toronto would be the best at this if we had an nfl team,” a Canadian said.

Tough break for New York fans, but at least they’ll always have their rats.
