The Cincinnati Bengals have been disappointing across the board.

After entering the season with Super Bowl aspirations, it’s looking like the Bengals won’t even make the playoffs. A major part of the Bengals’ struggles has been their defense, and now we know who the culprits are.

“Out of 255 defensive linemen with at least 50 snaps, Sam Hubbard ranks 252nd & Myles Murphy ranks 253rd in PFF Pass Rush Grading,” tweeted Josh Iles, a prominent Twitter account covering the Bengals.

Fans reacted to the advanced metrics highlighting how deplorable Cincinnati’s pass rush has been.

“Yikes- one of those guys is a 1st round pick,” one fan said on Twitter.

“They were never elite pass rushers. Both were known for stopping the run…. Poor scouting and organizational decisions to lean on these guys to be consistent pass rushers,” one fan added.

“Sam Hubbard got bodied by a tight end lmao that’s all you need to know,” one fan added.

“It always feels like they are just told to contain and let Trey crash in from the backside. I never see any pash rush moves, no swim, no spin, nothing!” one fan added.

“Sam Hubbard should be cut this offseason,” one fan added.

“But his brother says a sack is coming and when it does look out,” one fan added.

“Feminine football players – it’s embarrassing,” one fan added.

Just a nasty season all around for the Bengals.
