The Pittsburgh Steelers have been playing hot potato with the quarterback position this season, and it looks like the move will pay dividends.\
After Justin Fields led the Steelers to a 4-2 record head coach Mike Tomlin made the shocking move to bring in Russell Wilson as the team’s starter before their Week Seven game against the New York Jets. The move paid off, as the Steelers scored a season-high 37 points and totaled over 400 yards of offense. And now, according to Steelers Depot, Pittsburgh just got news that makes it even more critical it knows it has two capable quarterbacks.
“Jay Glazer on Justin Fields: ‘So here’s the deal, just got off the phone with Mike Tomlin, he said Justin Fields actually tweaked his hamstring late this week. Doesn’t think he’s gonna be able to go tomorrow night. He’s not sure yet. Probably gonna have to get an MRI after the game. So, it’s gonna be all Russell Wilson. But this was a game that they’re kind of hoping to use that two-headed quarterback duo out there, but not really gonna be able to do it now because of the hamstring.'” Steelers Depot tweeted prior to Pittsburgh’s Week Eight game against the New York Giants.

Fans reacted to the surprise injury online.
“I wouldn’t want to play some crap special package either. Smart by JF, let Russ lead this thing to glory or to the ground. Preserve yourself for your new team next year. Time for Justin to be selfish for once, if this is true!” one fan said on Twitter.
“So the backup QB, who does practically nothing at practice pulled his hamstring?? Plus the starter at the beginning of season pulled his calf pushing a sled?? Right, sure that sounds about right. Who’s running the circus??” one fan added.
“Smart move by Fields!! Let them roll with Russ and find your team next year! You proved you can play at a high caliber!!” one fan said.
“Tin foil hat time: The front office is getting trade offers,” one fan added.
“I’m in the minority,I really think the Steelers making a BIG mistake putting their trust in Russ,Jets are a bad football team, who he beat without their 3 secondary starters..I hope they’re not thinking of trading Fields..until Russ play more games I hope he prove me wrong. IJS,” one fan added.
It’s certainly one of the most interesting quarterback situations in the league. It’ll be interesting to see how things play out.
