Last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers replaced Justin Fields with Russell Wilson as their starting quarterback. And it sure seems like he’s set to start for the team this week, as well.
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not officially name Russell Wilson as the team’s starting quarterback during his press conference earlier in the week.
However, based on a social media post from Wilson, it sure seems like he will be the team’s starter during their game against the New York Giants on Monday night.
In a post on social media this week, Wilson shared a hype video that seemed to indicate that he was set to start for the Steelers on Monday night.
“See you Monday. @steelers,” Wilson said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
This decision was further confirmed on Sunday when Jay Glazer of Fox Sports
“I just got off the phone with Mike Tomlin. He said Justin Fields actually tweaked his hamstring late this week,” Glazer said on Sunday morning. “[He] doesn’t think he’s going to be able to go tomorrow night. He’s not sure yet, probably going to have to get an MRI after the game.”
This obviously means that Wilson will be the starting quarterback on Monday night.
“So, it’s going to be all Russell Wilson,” Glazer said.
We’ll have to see how he performs after a record-breaking performance last weekend.
