The Philadelphia Eagles are trying to get things sorted out. The Eagles entered the year with Super Bowl aspirations, but their 2-2 start to the season has put a hold on those lofty goals.
The relationship between star quarterback Jalen Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni has been under heavy scrutiny since last season when the team fell apart in the second half of the season. The Eagles lost their most recent game, a 33-16 routing at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Per Pro Football Talk, after the loss to the Bucs, Hurts said of himself and Sirianni, “we have our moments,” after being asked if the two would spend time working on their chemistry during the bye week.
With the Cleveland Browns coming up next, Hurts addressed his dealings with his head coach in a media session on Wednesday.
“We’re the two leaders of the team,” Hurts noted.
“I’m happy and fortunate that we were able to come together in harmony and have the same goal in mind, trying to get this thing right. I got a ton of confidence in him, a ton of confidence in what he brings and everything he’s been able to accomplish. Just continue to press on, on that.
Everybody goes through different moments, everybody experiences adversity but we’ve experienced different levels of adversity together. We’re excited for what’s to come.”
Hurts knows how to say all the right things to keep the media happy, but if the Eagles don’t get it together either he or Sirianni may be looking at homes elsewhere soon.
