Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has never had a problem making his opinion clear in the media. This is especially true when it comes to his son, famous college football quarterback and likely first-round draft pick Shedeur Sanders.
Deion appeared on an episode of Night Cap, a podcast hosted by NFL legends Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco. In his appearance, Sanders seemed to indicate where he wants his son to end up in the 2025 NFL draft.
It appears Sanders is well aware of the Miami Dolphins quarterback situation, and the head injuries Tua Tagovailoa has sustained throughout his career.
“What do you do business-wise if you’re the Dolphins?” Sanders asked. “Do you take a quarterback, which is what I’m saying, or do you say, ‘Tua, let’s check this out, let’s see what we’re going to do.’ Is his health more important than that?
“I want what’s best for him. I want him to be happy as well. You really don’t get to dictate where your son gets to go because there’s a draft process, but you know us.
You know how we are. We know who ain’t trying to win in the NFL. … You don’t want that situation for your kid or your family members. Nobody, none of them. So we know what time it is.”
The Dolphins are 1-3 and their offense has struggled mightily without Tagovailoa. If they keep losing, they’ll be in position to select Shedeur with a top-10 draft pick.
If there’s anyone with the influence to force Shedeur’s way to the team of his choice, it’s Deion Sanders.
