Bernie Sanders is most well known as the senior United States senator from Vermont, but he also enjoys sports. Sanders has been spotted at numerous sporting events over the years.
Now it looks like Sanders is trying his hand at competing himself. Sanders’ senior advisor, Jeremy Slevin, shared a video on Twitter of Sanders playing ping-pong against a small child.
“(Bernie Sanders) has finally met his match,” Slevin wrote in the tweet’s caption. As the caption suggests, Sanders has a rough go of things, which is shocking considering his opponent seems to be around ten years old. It’s incredible to think the senator has a leadership role in the country when he can’t even compete against children.

Users on social media responded to Sanders’ poor athletic display.
“The DNC rigged the paddles,” one user joked on Twitter.
“I guess you’d only care about feel good Bernie videos if you were also a sheepdog for the dems like he is,” someone wrote.
“I love regular man Bernie. He never puts on airs, he never pretends to be too good for anyone. He never worries if he will look foolish,” another person added.
“I want to play with Bernie too,” a user said.
Hopefully Bernie is more effective in the senate than he is on the ping-pong table.
