This offseason, the Chicago Bears decided to select Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and move on from previous starter Justin Fields. The Bears ultimately traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he has led the team to an undefeated 3-0 record. But it sounds like there were other teams pursuing him, too.

During a recent press conference, Justin Fields listed three other teams that were in talks about trading for the former first-round pick.

Fields said that the Los Angeles Chargers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Las Vegas Raiders were all in talks about trading for him.

“I’m not sure of all the teams, but there were a lot of teams that already had solidified quarterbacks and I didn’t want to do that. Chargers were one, Ravens were another,” Fields said according to Pro Football Talk.

“Raiders, they talked a little bit. I don’t know too much. Who else was in there I don’t know, but a lot of teams had solidified quarterbacks who just got new contracts so I didn’t want to be there.”

Obviously, the Chargers had a solidified starter in Justin Herbert and the Ravens had Lamar Jackson, but Fields could have competed for the starting job in Las Vegas.

However, it’s safe to say that things worked out for him so far in Pittsburgh.

We’ll have to see whether or not Fields is able to hold onto the starting job once Russell Wilson returns from his injury.
