Facebook told me I wouldn’t be getting their new Timeline feature until September 29th, but I wanted it now. Luckily we’ve figured out a way that you can get Facebook Timeline today. We’ve created a simple tutorial so you can activate Timeline in a few easy steps.
Step 1:
Go to the Facebook homepage and search for the word “developer” in the search box. You want to select the “Facebook Developer App”
Step 2:
Next, click on the “Apps” link in the top navigation bar.
Step 3:
Now you’re going to want to click on “Create New App” in the upper-right hand corner.
Step 4:
Next you need to give your App a name and create a namespace. Bear in mind that the namespace must be at least 7 characters and all lowercase. You must agree to the Platform Privacy Policy.
Step 5:
On the left-hand side of the page click “Open Graph”
Step 6:
In the displayed Open Graph area, add one of the following to the “People can” area: watch, plan, read, or review. In the “object” area, type in an object from the list of available choices. Once you’ve done that click the green “Get Started” button.
Step 7:
Go back to the Facebook homepage and you will be presented with a box to activate your Timeline early.
Enjoy!
