Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are the two-time defending Super Bowl champions and that success has brought its share of scrutiny media. It doesn’t help that Mahomes’ favorite target, tight end Travis Kelce, is dating pop megastar Taylor Swift. Lately, it’s been the dynamic one-two punch’s significant others making the headlines. First when Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, was thanked by former President Trump for being a “big MAGA fan.” More recently, Swift took to Instagram to announce that she would be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming November election.
According to NBC, Patrick Mahomes is taking a different approach toward his public election stance.
“I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family,” the superstar QB told reporters at a news conference on Wednesday,” Mahomes said.
“Every time I’m on this stage and I get asked these questions, I’m going to refer back to that because I think that’s what makes America so great.”
After being asked if Trump mentioning his wife could affect him, Mahomes was supportive of his wife’s work in the community.
“No, I mean, I think at the end of the day it’s about me and my family and how we treat other people, and I think you see that Brittany does a lot in the community, I do a lot in the community to help bring people up and give people other opportunities to use their voice.”
“In the political times, people are going to use stuff here and there but I can’t let that affect how I go about my business every single day and live my life.”
Even with three Super Bowl rings, Mahomes is committed to helping people make the best decisions for them and is as focused as ever on his goals.
