On Tuesday night, Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark caused quite a stir when she “liked” a post from pop sensation Taylor Swift where the pop sensation publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. But that doesn’t mean Clark is endorsing Harris herself.
In a press conference ahead of Wednesday night’s game between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces, Caitlin Clark was asked about her decision to “like” the Instagram post and whether or not she was willing to publicly endorse Kamala Harris.
While Clark did encourage everyone to vote, she chose not to endorse Harris publicly.
I asked Caitlin Clark about her “like” of Taylor Swift’s Instagram post endorsing Kamala Harris. She answered by saying she has an “amazing platform” and encourages everyone to register to vote. pic.twitter.com/aymRZakuNx

“I think for myself, I have this amazing platform so I think the biggest thing would be just to encourage people to register to vote,” Clark said. “I think for myself, this is the second time I can vote in an election at age 22 – I could vote when I was 18. I think do that – that’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform I have, and it’s the same thing Taylor [Swift] did.
“Continue to educate yourself with the candidates that we have and the policies that they are supporting. I think that’s the biggest thing you can do and that’s what I would recommend to every single person that has that opportunity in this country.”
It’s a pretty notable move from Clark not to publicly endorse Harris. But it’s worth noting that even though she is not publicly endorsing Harris, that doesn’t mean she won’t be supporting her or voting for her in the upcoming election.
