On Monday, the Green Bay Packers acquired veteran quarterback Malik Willis by way of a trade with the Tennessee Titans to serve as the backup quarterback behind starter Jordan Love. That meant that the team had to part ways with another quarterback to make room for him on the roster, and it seems like they’ve made that decision.
According to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Green Bay Packers decided to cut Sean Clifford to make room for him.

A former Penn State Nittany Lions star, Clifford was selected in the fifth round by the Green Bay Packers in the 2023 NFL Draft. In his lone season with the Packers, he appeared in just two games and attempted just one pass for 37 yards.
With Clifford now off the roster, that leaves the Packers with three quarterbacks. Love leads the way as the starter with Willis behind him as the backup. Rookie Michael Pratt rounds of the depth chart after he was just selected in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Like Sherrone Moore, he just wasn’t quite ready yet.
