Phoenix Mercury star guard Sophie Cunningham made a pretty bold fashion choice as she arrived at the arena for Monday night’s showdown against the New York Liberty, but not everyone seems to be happy about it.
Ahead of Monday’s game, the Phoenix Mercury shared a video of Sophie Cunningham walking into the arena wearing a very short and quite revealing dress that included a big cutout at the hip that even showed off her bikini tan lines.
She was clearly dressed to impress, and the team’s social media account leaned into it.

The caption is in reference to the hit reality show Love Island, where contestants routinely wear very revealing attire.
Clearly, Cunningham felt good about her outfit and the social media team had a little bit of fun with the video and the post, but not everyone was happy about it.
The video quickly sparked outrage among fans who criticized it as being inappropriate for a professional basketball player.
