Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow has been on a mission to fight food insecurity for many years as he even used his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech as a call to action, raising money for a food bank in his hometown of Athens, Ohio. And now that he’s a star in the NFL, he’s continuing to use his platform to help feed those in need.
This week, Joe Burrow and Kodiak Cakes announced a partnership that will help feed thousands of kids in Athens and Cincinnati, Ohio as well as Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
“Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Kodiak Cakes are joining forces to fight food insecurity by donating nearly 30,000 meals to three separate school programs within Athens, Baton Rouge, and Cincinnati. Burrow – No.9 – and Kodiak will donate 9,999 meals to each program,” NFL insider Adam Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Obviously, this is a pretty significant and generous announcement from Burrow, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

Taking care of children in Republican-led states that neglect them. My QB is better on and off the field. https://t.co/EzVpiPJDy7

Burrow is currently preparing for the 2024 NFL season as he tries to come back from a season-ending wrist injury that sidelined him for most of last season.
