Legendary Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant used his platform to speak out against the LGBTQ community this week, citing his religious beliefs.
In a post on social media, Dez Bryant did not hold back his opinions on the LGBTQ community as he claimed to “know” that God “didn’t create us to be gay,” saying “God didn’t make Adam to be with another Adam.”
“God created a lot of beautiful things but I know [darn] well he didn’t create us to be gay…. I don’t have problems with gays just my beliefs. My mama gay/and she’s free to do as she please. God didn’t make Adam to be with another Adam. God said Adam wasn’t meant to be alone so he made Eve. They both have certain parts for a reason. You have men trying to get pregnant… that’s not what’s up,” Bryant said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Bryant also spoke out against the transgender community, claiming “God didn’t put you in a foreign body.”
“God made you a woman for a reason. God made you a man for a reason. God didn’t put you in a foreign body. Also, Men shouldn’t be able to compete in women divisions. My opinion,” Bryant said in another post.
Needless to say, these comments led to a lot of reactions on social media.
I love Dez and I respect his opinion but he doesn’t wake up and choose to be straight every morning just like I don’t wake up and choose to be gay. It’s in all of nature. This is what I know to be true because I’m living it. Just my gay 2 cents. https://t.co/0SW9ZGI6f3

Dez Bryant, a 35 year old retired professional athlete, tells us, that he absolutely knows what God created and why.
This is how insanely stupid religious people can be. They absolutely KNOW what God did, why He did it, what He thought about and felt.
Criminally ignorant. https://t.co/T0fuj58O1Y

Just letting everyone know that “I don’t have a problem with gay people/trans people/etc.” immediately after saying something that suggests you have a problem with one of those groups does not neutralize the bigotry of the initial statement. https://t.co/M08wKSIdgX

Clearly, Bryant does not support the LGBTQ community.
