Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce faced a pretty terrifying situation this weekend when a fan made a terroristic threat against him and his teammate Patrick Mahomes on social media.
According to a report from TMZ, a man by the name of Aaron Brown threatened to shoot both Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes in a social media post if the two of them were brought on stage at the Morgan Wallen concert.
“Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted] I’ll take the (expletive) shot. (Expletive) em!” He added: “Also, (expletive) you (expletive)!! [hand emoji with middle finger],” the post said, according to TMZ.
The good news is that police seem to have handled the situation swiftly and brought Brown into custody.
Police determined that Brown and his girlfriend did indeed attend the concert and reached him by phone before ultimately arresting him for making terroristic threats.
“It was a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake,” Brown said about the incident, according to TMZ.
Brown was ultimately charged with making terroristic threats and his bail was set at $15,000.
It’s not clear whether or not Kelce or Mahomes were ever in any real danger, but it sounds like police took it seriously regardless.
