The Arizona Cardinals can’t wait to see Marvin Harrison Jr. suit up for them.
So much so, that they’re planning on playing the rookie wide receiver in their upcoming preseason games, according to the Arizona Republic.
“I think he needs to get out there and play,” Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said, according the paper.
That appears to be just fine with the former Ohio State star.
“Hopefully I get to play,” Harrison said Thursday told reporters on Thursday. “I definitely want to play, get out there, always compete.
“Honestly, I think there probably should be preseason games in college,” he later added. “I think people should take advantage of that a little bit more. College, they only play 12 games so two extra games of preseason won’t hurt. But hopefully I get a chance to go out there and compete.”
The Cardinals selected Harrison Jr. — the son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison — with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Philadelphia native enjoyed a stellar college career, in which he amassed 150 receptions for 2,495 yards and 31 touchdowns, twice earning unanimous All-American selections, in addition to winning the 2023 Fred Biletnikoff Award and being named the 2023 Big Ten MVP.
