The Olympics are typically a time of profound unity as nations across the world come together to join in some athletic competition. But unfortunately, some fans chose to use the opportunity for hate during the games this year.
In a video shared on social media, a small group of pro-Palestine supporters appeared to break out in a disgusting “Heil Hitler” chant while doing a right arm salute when the Israeli national anthem played before a soccer match against Paraguay on Monday afternoon.
“Arabs holding the Palestinian flag were screaming ‘HEIL HITLER’ while the Israeli national anthem was playing at an Olympic soccer event,” social media user Marina Medvin said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this disgusting and hateful chant is in reference to Adolf Hitler’s extermination of the Jewish people during World War II. The pro-Palestine supporters are using the chant to express hate toward the Jewish people as a result of the current conflict between Israel and Palestine.
It’s not clear whether or not the group of pro-Palestine supporters was removed from the match, but this is certainly not something that the Olympics wants to promote or allow from the fans in the stands.
