The Ohio State Buckeyes have one of the most talented teams in the entire country after nearly all of their draft-eligible underclassmen decided to return to school for another season instead of entering the NFL Draft. And it sounds like that’s created a tangible mentality that the team is embracing.
During a recent press conference, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said that there is a tangible “urgency” surrounding this team as many players returned to pursue a championship and a win over their rival Michigan Wolverines.
“Yeah, I would say they’ve done that and some. There’s a great energy around this team,” Day said according to On3. “You know, they know what they want. There’s an urgency, there’s a purpose and they’ve come together. You can just see it.”
“We don’t want to create distractions for this team. We want them to continue to focus on what matters. But you can just feel it when you’re around the guys, you know,” Day continued. “You guys will spend some time with our players. You guys can feel it. It’s real.”
Clearly, the Buckeyes will be on a mission this upcoming season. We’ll have to see whether or not they can accomplish that mission.
