As the Dallas Cowboys prepare for the upcoming NFL season, it sounds like they will be dealing with what appears to be a serious injury to one of their key players.

According to a report from Nick Harris of the Dallas Cowboys team website, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams had to be carted off the field during training camp on Sunday after he suffered what appeared to be a knee injury.

“Uh oh. Sam Williams is down and needs the cart to come off the field. Described as ‘not good’ from someone who saw the injury live,” Harris said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Williams may be behind both DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons on the depth chart, but appeared in every single game for the Cowboys last year, finishing with the season with 4.5 sacks, 48 tackles, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 16 quarterback hits.

Needless to say, this injury is pretty terrible news for the Cowboys, especially considering their general lack of depth at the position, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Obviously, it’s a scary injury for Williams. The Cowboys will be hoping that it turns out to be nothing serious and that he will be ready to play this season.
