The Dallas Cowboys have had a dispiriting 2024. The year began with the Green Bay Packers throttling the Cowboys at home in the Playoffs. Then, after proclaiming they were “all in,” the Cowboys had a very quiet offseason. More questions emerged than answers.

Namely, when is Dak Prescott getting paid? Will Micah Parsons receive a new contract? And, oh yeah, will CeeDee Lamb keep his holdout going? We found out the answer to the third question on Tuesday night. Lamb will continue his holdout from the team as he seeks a new contract and won’t attend a training camp in Oxnard, California.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the significant development in Lamb’s current contract dilemma with the Cowboys.

Schefter noted that Lamb will enter the final season of his current deal, which owes the former Oklahoma Sooners standout $17.99 million.

The Cowboys have painted themselves into a real corner with this. Lamb is one of a few disgruntled players out there. But the problem is when you start counting, you realize that more players on the Cowboys are also unhappy with their situation. That doesn’t make for a great recipe, nor does it make for a good one at all when it’s their star players. Parsons and Prescott will need new deals too soon. Dallas must figure this out, or they could risk sinking into uncharted territory.

The sports world had much to say over this news on Tuesday night.
