All eyes are on the San Francisco 49ers as training camp begins. Not only because they’re one of the best teams in the NFL but also because one of the team’s star players wants a new contract. Brandon Aiyuk has made it clear he wants a new deal, but the Niners star will be at training camp despite that.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport updated everyone on the status of the star receiver.
Rapoport added the detail that “the team has not held extensive contract talks since May and because of that, Aiyuk has requested a trade.”
#49ers star WR Brandon Aiyuk is reporting to training camp, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo, despite his desires for a new contract.

Aiyuk is one of the best receivers in the NFL and the 49ers know that. San Francisco, though, has held firm to their position. There is a precedent, as San Francisco has gotten deals done “late” with Nick Bosa and George Kittle in recent years.
Aiyuk can’t decide between playing the good guy or bad guy. I feel bad for him. Feels like he just wants to play football with the boyssss. I hope he stays on the team long-term. 🤞 https://t.co/VGp4EkU5WU

Love this from Brandon Aiyuk.
Show up at training camp as one of the leaders on the team and he’ll get rewarded accordingly. https://t.co/gvWFWJaWji

Through this, Brandon Aiyuk will avoid $40,000 daily fines https://t.co/DihnMX8PsV
