The Alabama Crimson Tide received great news this weekend, as offensive tackle Ty Haywood committed to the program.
Haywood, a five-star recruit, is the latest elite talent to go to Tuscaloosa.
Haywood boasted, “I am 1000% COMMITTED.”

Alabama will look a bit differently this year. After they lost in the Rose Bowl Game, legendary head coach Nick Saban decided to retire. Alabama replaced Saban with Kalen DeBoer, who helped lead Washington to the 2024 College Football Playoff Championship Game.
But that doesn’t seem to be stopping elite recruits from going to Alabama. The Tide rank second in the nation in 247Sports’ 2025 recruiting class rankings. If a change in leadership is going to affect the Crimson Tide, it simply won’t now for at least a little while.
Haywood is the fourth five-star recruit to commit to Alabama in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He’s joined by Dijon Lee, Caleb Cunningham, and Keelon Russell. Haywood ranks 18th in the nation, fourth at his position of tackle, and sixth in the talent-rich state of Texas. Haywood will be part of yet another elite class in Tuscaloosa next season if he chooses to stay committed.
Whatever adjustments DeBoer needs to make will have to come fast because the talent isn’t stopping.
