Following his disastrous performance in last month’s debate against former president Donald Trump, many are continuing to call for President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 election.
That includes Hall of Fame NBA head coach George Karl, who used the news that Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is dropping out of the upcoming Summer Olympics to make a as statement on Biden’s bid for re-election.
“Unsurprising re Kawhi,” Karl wrote on X. “Now it’s your turn to do the same, Biden.”
After receiving multiple responses to his post, the 2013 NBA Coach of the Year and 2022 Naismith Hall of Fame inductee made it clear that he doesn’t support Trump.

Karl’s comments join a recent chorus of calls for the 81-year-old Biden to drop out of the race over concerns regarding his age and ability to beat Trump in the November election. Minutes before the 73-year-old Karl’s social media post, actor George Clooney published an op-ed in The New York Times calling for the 46th president to end his re-election campaign.
Despite the concerns and trailing Trump in most polls, however, Biden has remained steadfast he will remain in the race.
“I convinced myself of two things: I’m the most qualified person to beat him, and I know how to get things done,” President Biden told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview last week.
