With Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers returning for another season with the team this season, there was a lot of speculation that five-star quarterback Arch Manning would decide to transfer to a different program rather than sit behind him for another year. But Manning decided to stay, and it sounds like Ewers thinks he made the right decision.
During a recent interview with The Athletic, Quinn Ewers offered his reaction to Arch Manning deciding to return to the Texas Longhorns as he made it clear that he believes this is the best situation for the young quarterback even if he won’t be playing immediately.
“I think he understands that what he’s got here is he’s gonna be the most ready whenever he goes to the NFL,” Ewers said. “I think coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) does the best job getting quarterbacks ready for the NFL and developing guys. (Manning will) be playing in his third year. He’ll be more than comfortable in operating the offense, and it’s just a really good fit for him.”
Manning is expected to serve as Ewers’ backup yet again this season before taking over as the team’s starting quarterback to begin next season.
