Following a horrible performance a the presidential debate against Donald Trump last month, there have been quite a few prominent Democrats suggesting that Joe Biden should pull out of the presidential race and allow somebody else to run in his place. And one of those Democrats used a sports comparison to explain the situation.
On Sunday, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel called out Joe Biden as she used United States women’s soccer legend Alex Morgan as an example of why he should pull out of the presidential race.
“I adore Alex Morgan. One of the greatest of all time. But she’s aged significantly from her prime playing days & gracefully accepted that in order to win the gold it was time to pass the baton,” Nessel said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Morgan is one of the most accomplished players in the history of the United States Women’s National Team, but she will not be representing the United States at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.
“Today, I’m disappointed about not having the opportunity to represent our country on the Olympic stage. This will always be a tournament that is close to my heart and I take immense pride any time I put on the crest. In less than a month, I look forward to supporting this team and cheering them on alongside the rest of our country,” Morgan said in a post after she was left off of this year’s Olympic roster.
It’s worth noting that Morgan was did not voluntarily decide not to participate in the Olympics, she was simply left off the roster.
