The Golden State Warriors officially said goodbye to Klay Thompson this weekend. Thompson officially joined the Dallas Mavericks after an illustrious career in the Bay Area over the last decade-plus.
The four-time NBA champion will now play for the reigning Western Conference Champion Mavericks for the foreseeable future. Thompson leaves Golden State after the franchise’s most prolific and dominant run in their history. It was also one of the most dominant runs in NBA and modern sports history.
Klay penned a heartfelt goodbye to fans over the weekend that caught everybody’s attention.

“My family and I would like to thank all of the amazing people who work tirelessly to make the @warriors organization world-class. Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy it happened. Until we meet again. Sea captain out,” Thompson wrote.
Warriors fans and basketball fans alike took the time to recognize Klay for all he did after he penned this message.
