The Los Angeles Lakers will soon make it official: Bronny James is here. On Wednesday, reports emerged that the Lakers signed James, the son of NBA great LeBron James, to a multi-year contract.
L.A. area reporter Dave McMenamin reported the news, saying it’s a four-year deal worth roughly $8 million.
“Bronny James has agreed to a four-year, $7.9 million deal with the Lakers,” McMenamin said, adding the team has an option for his fourth year, a standard practice for draft picks.

The Lakers’ selection of Bronny James became a hot topic of discussion at the 2024 NBA Draft. Some argued that nepotism is at work, and to them there’s nothing that will dissuade them. Others have argued for it, saying that others have gotten away with it, at much worse costs, and therefore this isn’t as big a deal as everyone makes it out to be.
Whatever your opinion is, Bronny is a Laker and so is his father, LeBron. The two joining forces on the court will be one heck of a moment, whatever side of the fence you reside on. The sports world had much to say over this development Wednesday.

Bronny James signed essentially an 8 million dollar contract over 4 years after being picked 55th overall, and averaging a triple single in college.
He ain’t even play in the summer league and he already has a guaranteed spot for 4 years.
