Arch Manning Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports

Arch Manning is widely expected to be the backup quarterback for the Texas Longhorns behind returning starter Quinn Ewers, who is one of the top returning quarterbacks in the entire country. But in a shocking turn of events, prominent college football analyst Paul Finebaum seems to think that by the end of the season, Manning will be starting over Ewers.

During a recent interview with Tyler Feldman of KVUE News, Paul Finebaum was asked who he thought would be Texas’ starting quarterback by the end of the season, and Paul Finebaum quickly “guaranteed” that Arch Manning – not Quinn Ewers – will be in that role by the end of the year.

β€œThat would be Arch Manning. I don’t need to tiptoe around that,” Finebaum said in the video. β€œThat is guaranteed. You heard it.”

β€œWe may even see him a little bit throughout the season,” Finebaum continued.

Obviously, this is a pretty shocking prediction Manning has been widely expected to serve as Ewers’ backup this season, and the news of Finebaum’s prediction understandably led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Needless to say, that’s quite a prediction from Finebaum. We’ll have to see if it holds true.
