Former five-star quarterback prospect Arch Manning is entering the 2024 college football season as the backup quarterback for the Texas Longhorns behind returning starter Quinn Ewers. But college football analyst Paul Finebaum does not think that Manning will be behind Ewers for the entire season.
During a recent interview with Tyler Feldman of KVUE News, Paul Finebaum offered an extremely bold “guarantee” that Arch Manning – not Quinn Ewers – will be the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns by the end of the upcoming season.
“That would be Arch Manning. I don’t need to tiptoe around that,” Finebaum said in the video. “That is guaranteed. You heard it.”
I asked @Finebaum who will be the #Longhorns starting QB by the end of their first season in the #SEC.
His response: "That will be Arch Manning. I don't need to tiptoe around that. That is guaranteed. You heard it."#HookEm | @KVUE pic.twitter.com/RXuRg10WMb

“We may even see him a little bit throughout the season,” Finebaum continued.
Obviously, this is a pretty shocking prediction as Ewers is one of the top returning quarterbacks in the entire league and Manning only played a few snaps for the team last season. Ewers led the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff last season and was one play away from leading them to the national title game.
We’ll have to see whether or not this bold prediction from Finebaum holds true when the upcoming season comes to a close.
