On Thursday afternoon, Bronny James was officially selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers where he will have a chance to play alongside his NBA megastar father, LeBron James – provided he re-signs with the Lakers this offseason. And one stat highlights just how insane it is that James is still dominant this late in his career.
Sports analyst Joe Pompliano pointed out a pretty insane LeBron James stat on social media this week as he shared that James is actually averaging around the same numbers now as he was when Bronny James was a baby.
“The best LeBron stat of all time might be that this kid just got drafted to the NBA while LeBron is still averaging just as many points, assists, and rebounds per game as he did when this photo was taken 17 years ago,” Pompliano said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Needless to say, this absolutely insane stat led to a lot of reactions on social media.
If you really really dive into what’s being said right here, you’ll understand that this is insane and will never ever happen again. No one will ever do this again. In a sense, it’s a couple of steps from baking humanly impossible. https://t.co/PY50Osshiw

This is one of the most ridiculous sporting stats of all time by the way. Don't let it pass you by how much of a phenom LeBron is…. https://t.co/D9X3UEmRrT

LeBron has had to change the way he plays later in recent years, but he is still a dominant player even this late in his career.
