As the start of the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft gets underway, much of the attention for the event has been focused on Bronny James.
But despite being the most high profile prospect in this year’s class, James won’t be in attendance for the second round of the draft on Thursday night, which will take place at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in New York.
Taking to X, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times revealed the list of players expected to be in the green room for Thursday’s second round. James — the son of four-time NBA MVP LeBron James — isn’t on the list, opting to watch the draft elsewhere instead.

While he won’t be in attendance, Bronny James’ destination remains one of the draft’s biggest storylines, with most mock drafts projecting him to join his dad on the Los Angeles Lakers, who lay claim to the No. 55 overall pick in the second round. While his freshman season at USC was largely underwhelming and hampered by health issues, the younger James possesses plenty of upside and it doesn’t hurt that LeBron has previously expressed his desire to play alongside his oldest son.
