Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has been working under owner and general manager Jerry Jones ever since he took over as the team’s coach back in 2020, but it sounds like he may be growing a little bit frustrated by the way Jones does things in Dallas.
According to a recent report from independent sports journalist Tyler Dunne, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is “getting fed up” with the way Jerry Jones does things in Dallas.
“McCarthy’s doing it the best he can. Some of the people I’ve talked to have said that he’s getting fed up with it a little bit,” Dunne wrote in his article this week.
McCarthy has been quite successful during his time with the Cowboys, guiding the team to three consecutive playoff berths with three consecutive 12-5 regular season records. However, despite the regular season success, the Cowboys have not made a deep playoff run during McCarthy’s time in Dallas, never making it past the divisional round.
After last year’s blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers in the wild card round of the playoffs last season, Jones and the Cowboys declined to give McCarthy a contract extension, meaning he will be heading into the final year of his contract this season.
We’ll have to see how McCarthy performs this season.
