On Sunday evening, the United States Men’s National Team is set to play its first game of the Copa America soccer tournament against Bolivia. But there seems to be a lot of confusion about when the game will actually kick off thanks to some apparent deception from Fox, the network that will be broadcasting the event.

As Awful Announcing pointed out on social media on Sunday afternoon, Fox has been advertising the upcoming matchup between the USMNT and Bolivia as beginning at 5 p.m. But that’s not when the game actually begins, that’s just when the network’s pregame coverage of the game actually begins.

The game will not begin until 6 p.m. – an hour after Fox listed in its advertising.

“PSA- Fox is purposely being inconsistent on communicating tonight’s USMNT kickoff time. It’s 6PM ET if you’re not trying to watch an hour of pregame,” Awful Announcing said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Needless to say, this lie from Fox did not go over well with sports fans as the network got absolutely blasted for its dishonesty.

Clearly, people were not at all happy with this attempted deception from Fox.
