The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a deflating Super Bowl loss. San Francisco has failed numerous times to win a sixth Super Bowl title over the last 10+ years. Still, the team figures to be a contender again in 2024. Led by quarterback Brock Purdy, the Niners are still the team to beat out west.

Purdy has gone through a real grind since his 49ers debut last October. The former Iowa State standout has led the 49ers to back-to-back NFC Championship Game appearances. Last season, Purdy and the Niners made it back to the Super Bowl but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. Still, he’s rarely been defeated as a starter.

The grind is real, and Purdy knows it. Purdy spoke about the grind of the NFL season and how imperative it is to be enduring.

“I took a week. Went back home for my buddy’s wedding in Arizona, and then I got abck to California,” Purdy said via 49ersWebZone on if he took time off after the Super Bowl loss. “And I have footballs in my room, so I was already just envisioning, ‘All right, when am I going to get back after it?'”

Purdy responded to a question of if he considers time off emphatically. “No, you can’t,” he said via 49ersWebZone. “Not in this league.”

Purdy technically did take a day off to get married, but the 49ers quarterback has been all business otherwise. The great ones usually are, after all. In order for San Francisco to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for a sixth time, they’ll need all they can get.
