Angel Reese is off to a historic start to her WNBA career. The Chicago Sky’s superstar rookie made league history on Thursday afternoon.
Reese recorded yet another double-double in the Sky’s afternoon tilt versus the Dallas Wings. It’s the rookie’s seventh double-double of the season, which puts her at a startling pace.
Reese is the first-ever WNBA rookie to record as many as seven double-doubles in her first season in the league!
Yahoo Sports boasted about the accomplishment with a post on X.

Coming out of college, Reese brought a lot of hype with her. The LSU star helped lead the Tigers to a National Championship in 2023. Originally from Maryland, Reese has seen her game translate at every level. She’s already making an absurd impact at the professional level, transitioning smoothly into a tougher and more high-pressure game.
While trouble has followed Reese in terms of media coverage and outward hate, she continues to excel despite it. Her detractors might get more annoyed as long as she continues to do that. But she’s proving to be an excellent basketball player right now, and that should be celebrated. It seems like there’s no stopping her right now, so we’ll see what she has to offer us as the season progresses.
