The Pittsburgh Steelers have not yet determined their starting quarterback for the upcoming season, but it’s pretty clear that the team is quite pleased with the options available to them, considering the struggles at the position in recent years.
During a recent appearance on on 93.7 The Fan, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan admits that he never would have dreamed that the team would land Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and Kyle Allen at the quarterback position all in one offseason.
“If you would have told me that we’d be sitting here with Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen five months ago, I wouldn’t have believed you,” Khan said.
Currently, Wilson is the top quarterback followed by Fields, then Allen. However, while Wilson might be in the pole position to be the starter, Khan had some high praise for Justin Fields.
“We really liked Justin coming out of college. He had an up-and-down situation in Chicago, and the opportunity was there to get him, and I’m excited. He’s really looked awesome. He’s a great individual, too. I didn’t know him personally until he got here. What a special person he is,” Khan said.
Whoever plays quarterback for the team this year, Khan seems convinced it will be an improvement from last year for Pittsburgh.
